Local news updates to keep your profile active goes a long way in keeping your profile visible to your network. Also, when a client is qualifying you and lurks on your Linkedin/Twitter profile (which BTW ranks 1 & 2 when someone searches you by name) and sees that your last post was in 2018 - it is not a good sign. By keeping an active profile you are saying "I am open" or "I am still in business."
I find local news is most engaging as it allows for others to like and comment. Too many of us have "realtor" friend who constantly post that listing, which is annoying (no offence to my realtor friend who I love very much, but not everyone is looking for a house). Same concept applies to other professionals. Sometimes posting on your favorite sports team or wellness news can be uplifting and engaging on social media.
